Privacy, in plain words.

The short version

We collect the minimum needed to run ShowUp, we don’t sell data to anyone, our website analytics are cookieless, and the register you keep in ShowUp belongs to your centre — not to us.

What we collect

• Account data — your name and email address, used to sign you in (we use one-time email codes, not passwords) and to reach you about your service.
• Centre data — the students, batches, attendance and fee records your centre enters. This data is entered and controlled by the centre; we process it only to provide the service.
• Billing data — handled by our payment partner (Stripe). Card numbers never touch our servers.
• Website analytics — Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is cookieless and does not track you across sites.

About students and children

Records about students — including children — are entered by the centre that teaches them. The centre is responsible for having the right to keep those records, exactly as it was with the paper register or spreadsheet ShowUp replaces. Families see only their own child’s information, teachers see only their own classes.

Who processes data for us

• Cloudflare (website hosting, analytics and network security)
• DigitalOcean (application and database hosting)
• Resend (transactional email)
• Stripe (payment processing and billing)
• Anthropic (plain-language progress summaries, when enabled by your centre)

Retention and deletion

We keep your data while your subscription is active. If you leave, we’ll export everything for you on request, retain it briefly (about 30 days) in case you change your mind, and then delete it. You can request earlier deletion at any time.

Security

Access is scoped by role — owners, teachers and families each see only what is theirs. Sign-in uses one-time codes, connections are encrypted, and we keep audit logs and daily backups.
